“I cannot make you understand. I cannot make anyone understand what is happening inside me. I cannot even explain it to myself.”
― Franz Kafka, The Metamorphosis
I chose the name Educated Uncouth because I am both educated and uncouth.
I did my Ancestry DNA which described my ancestors as people who were self-sufficient and cared not for the constraints of society. That pretty much sums me up!
My dad only went to the 8th grade and my mom graduated high school, but never went to college. She still has poems memorized from her high school English classes and my dad taught me the math he'd learned in the Navy. They believed in the power of education.
I have a Bachelor's, Master's, and most of a graduate certificate.
I love learning but I am also Kentucky uncouth, so I don't know place settings, and I'm no Hamish Bowles, but I love Shakespeare as much I love the smell of damp moss in the woods and the food at Todd English's bluezoo makes my soul happy just as much as clawhammer-style banjo music (thanks, Dad!).
It's not a sin to be educated and uncouth.
I tried to conform, in as much as someone like me can, but in the end the excitement I feel when I contemplate what content to create next is the feeling I want every day.
I am terrified too.
I know I will have to work hard to follow my dreams but living the life I want to live is worth it. Life is too short to waste.
To tell you the truth, I don't know the half of it. I'm learning every day and writing content.
All I do know is that I have a drive and a passion to tell you stories.
I love learning and creating and I can't wait to see what happens next!
Thank you for being part of my journey!
